The Myrtle Beach
Regional Pipe Band was formed to raise the awareness of the rich Celtic
heritage of the Carolinas by providing the community both an opportunity to
enjoy Celtic pipe band music and to join in learning to play this unique form
of music and to preserve other Celtic traditions.
The band can be found
performing
light concerts for both public and private occasions such as Schools,
Churches, Weddings, and Funerals and they also play for Charitable Events, Golf Tournaments, Memorial Day, Veterans Day and
other civic memorial services. Recently they provided Pipers for nine different Commemorative
Ceremonies on Remembrance Day, September 11th, including the one at the
Aircraft Carrier, USS Yorktown, in Mount Pleasant, SC. You can view their current

The band features the
Great Highland Bagpipe which is so well known and popular around the
world. Lessons are available for either the bagpipe or pipe band drums as well
as other traditional instruments and Highland Dancing. The Band’s uniform kilt is the
regional tartan from the Canadian Province of Nova Scotia (which means “New
Scotland”).
The Band is a
not-for-profit corporation located in the coastal area of South
Carolina known as the Grand Strand. The members who live in this
area are often joined by pipers from other states and Canada. It is
organized under the laws of South Carolina and is recognized as a
501(c)(3) Charitable Organization under Federal Tax Regulations.
